TEAM NIGERIA RETURNS HOME AS 3RD AFRICAN BEST IN LONDON PARALYMPICS

The just concluded Paralympics games held in London,  played host to over 100 countries with 4,294 athletes competing out of which Nigeria’s 29, pulled up an eventful performance coming out third best in Africa, after Tunisia and South Africa.
The Team Nigeria did not only set four world records, courtesy Esther Oyema,Yakubu Adesokan, Joy Onaolapo and Folashade Oluwafunmliayo, they also were the most celebrated power lifters, from where 12 out of the 13 won medals were acquired. Of the total 112 medals won by 10 African countries, Team Nigeria clinched 13, six golds, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals.
The team along with their coaches and assistants, will be returning to the country later in the week.
