The controversy between Nigerian rappers Vector and Reminisce seems to have sparked up again following Vector’s response to Reminisce’s diss.
As reported earlier, EGDE Records’ Reminisce threw a lyrical jab at Vector back in March after he felt Vector insulted him on a collabo track ‘Kitchen Street‘ (featuring Sauce Kid). Reminisce had released a one-minute diss song for V.E.C, calling his name out.
Many Hip-hop fans had expected the YSG Entertainment signee to respond immediately but other than tweet a subliminal towards his rap foe, Vector remained mum.
‘I sow the truth, why would I reap lie? (Reply)’ @VectorYSG had tweeted. His YSG management had also disclosed to NET that they weren’t going to speak on the matter, categorically stating they ‘had nothing to say’.
And all remained well until Saturday, June 9, 2012 when it appeared that Vector finally spoke out. Featuring on a song owned by yet another controversial rapper A-Q, Vector kept dropping subliminal insults to his ‘nameless’ opponent.
‘Your CD like abandon ships, it made not sail (sale)….your life is like your video, low budget..just because you bleach your skin doesn’t mean you are enlightened’, Vector threw verbal shots.
‘It is hard not to think he wasn’t talking about Reminisce‘, a fan commented.
Vector’s management when contacted have once again stated that their artiste did not diss anyone including Reminisce. ‘Someone leaked that song and tagged it as ‘Reminisce diss’, a rep for YSG explains.
A-Q has also opened up on the matter; after publicly stating he had nothing to do with the ‘beef’, he spoke with NET.
‘When the Reminisce diss track dropped I called Vector and asked what happened, he said he couldn’t understand, he invited me over to their YSG studios to talk about it. He told me that he never was referring to Remi when he said that line on Sauce song and Remi was on his BBM and did not even talk to him about it’, A-Q explains.
‘I asked if he was going to reply and he said no’, A-Q added.
But a close source to the rapper says he was always going to respond, knowing fully well that his credibility as a rapper which he has worked very hard for in the last two years would be questioned by his many fans.
Speaking with NET, Reminisce says he’ll be coming out to address the matter very soon. Both rappers performed at 9ice’s ‘Bashorun Gaa Versus’ album concert back in March. Reminisce had tweeted back then ‘Had fun @ BGV Concert!!! Chilled wit Vector too….’.
Reminisce released his debut ‘Book of Rap Stories’ two months ago while Vector is rumoured to have a collaboration with Jamaican singer Movado.
