Pop singer Chuddy K has been taken off the off the nominees list for the ‘Next Rated’ category of The Headies 2012 Awards.
This is coming less than 24 hours after organizers released the nominees list for the 2012 edition of the awards.
The reason for the removal, judges say, is because Chuddy K had released a debut album ‘I am Me’ in 2010. Next Rated nominees must be unreleased artistes as at nomination period.
‘Evidence has emerged that Chuddy K previously released an album titled “I Am Me” in 2010 and therefore will not be listed in the Next Rated category’, the statement released by the awards organizers said.
Upcoming rapper Flowssick has now replaced Chuddy K in the category which also fields Davido, Eva Alordiah, and Praiz.
Chuddy K is however still nominated in three other catergories – ‘Song of the Year’, ‘Best pop single’ and ‘Best street Hop’.
