THE ‘DARK KNIGHT RISES’ TOPS BOX OFFICE FOR SECOND WEEK

The Dark Knight Rises has maintained its number one spot at the box office for the second week in a row.
The final installment of Christopher Nolan‘s Batman series pulled in an incredible $64million (N10.4 bn) over the weekend.
The film, starring Christian Bale, has earned rave reviews and topped the charts over a slow weekend bringing its total worldwide haul $537.3m (N87.5 bn).
Dan Fellman, head of distribution for Warner Bros, declined to comment on Sunday estimates out of respect for the victims of the Aurora shooting.
Nevertheless, people are still going to the movies, and they did so even last weekend’, said Paul Dergarabedian, Hollywood.com analyst. ‘If anything hurt the numbers for all movies this weekend, it was Friday night’s opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London which drew a record-setting 40.7 million viewers in the United States‘ he said.
