A Hollywood director Tony Scott has died, after jumpin to his death on Sunday, August 19, 2012 off a Los Angeles bridge.
According to the Coroner, Scott, a 68-year-old younger brother of a popular movie director, ‘Ridley Scott‘ jumped from the Vincent Thomas Bridge spanning San Pedroand Terminal Island around 12:30pm.
Scott directed such films as ‘Top Gun, Beverly Hills Cop II, Enemy of the State andThe Taking of Pelham 123.
Authorities used sonar equipment to find Scott’s body in the port’s murky waters, which was recovered at approximately 4:30pm ‘four hours after he jumped.’
His body has since been turned over to coroner officials.
Scott left his contact information in his Toyota Prius car, which was parked on one of the eastbound lanes of the bridge and a suicide note in his office.
Scott’s last film was 2010’s ‘Unstoppable’.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Wilson Scott and their twin sons, Frank and Max.
