US rapper and business mogul Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter has come out to show his support for US President Barack Obama who recently endorsed gay marriage.
‘I’ve always thought it as something that was still holding the country back. What people do in their own homes is their business and you can choose to love whoever you love. That’s their business. It’s no different than discriminating against blacks. It’s discrimination plain and simple’, the Brooklyn native told CNN in an interview conducted when the rapper recently visited Philadelphia.
Jigga is known to be a long-time supporter of Obama and even performed a remix to rapper Young Jeezy’s ‘My president is black’ as a tribute at the president’s inauguration.
Obama in turn called Jay his favourite rapper in the infamous interview with cultural commentary publication The Atlantic where he also called Jay’s rap partner Kanye West a ‘jackass’.
