BROADWAY MUSICAL ON 2PAC TO BE MADE

2Pac
A new Broadway musical about late rap legend, Tupac Amaru Shakur is reportedly in the works as producers have obtained the approval of the late rapper’s mother, Afeni Shakur on the project.
According to the producers of the musical, Ms Afeni Shakur was ecstatic about the project when they reached out to her about it, and was appreciative of their gesture.
The musical, which will be titled, ‘Holler if You Hear Me’, is to be directed by black theatre legend and Broadway director, Kenny Leon. The release date has however not been decided yet. Casting is reportedly to begin immediately.
The musical however will not focus primarily on Tupac personally, but will revolve around a fictional story about two childhood friends in a Midwestern industrial city and their extended families.
Tupac Amaru Shakur (June 16, 1971 – September 13, 1996), known by his stage names 2Pac, Pac, and Makaveli, was an American rapper and actor. He has sold over 75 million albums worldwide making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world.
On September 7, 1996, Shakur was shot four times in Las Vegas, Nevada. He died six days later of respiratory failure and cardiac arrest.
